Well I would like to thank diddler1979, for supplying his iso for the flash tool and guide on how to achieve 3.0 with the p5n-e sli.
__________________I stressed it with OCCT for a little over two hours. Screenshot below while stressing it. http://img158.imageshack.us/img158/5...mpsloadnh5.jpg Forgot to take a screenshot when I stopped at 2 hours, but I took a screenshot while it was stressing at an 1 hour and 35 minutes. Screenshot of cpu-z and settings. http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/9967/cpuzzci9.jpg My vcore is actually 1.43 not 1.52 CPU-Z Validation http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=490458 Thanks everyone with all the helpfu guides on achieving 3.0

So if anyone has the knowledge please jump in. What would need to be physically done to these boards to allow for a higher clock with the Q6600?

ok, I have been playing with the settings and I can boot when I oc to 1543. Everything is left on default. Even the memory. But for some reason it doesn't show that it is oc in the bios.

Hi All, got a problem for the experts...
Have been happily running this bad boy at 3GHz for a year (thanks to Diddler...). However... a couple of months ago after my rig started to randomly crash and slow down, I decided on a clean install - first mistake... I completed a clean full install for Vista 64 Bit Ultimate, put in all the upgrades SP1 etc and the problem was worse. I redid it last month except this time did all the pre SP1 updates before SP1 as well as all the Direct X, Quadcore and PCI Express hotfixes I could find. The problem is worse. The problem is during game play and only games, it will freeze and loop the sound - I dont even get the blue screen! it used to be random now it is almost constant within 5 mins. I have tried reinstalling leaving out my Sound Card (XFi Extreme Audio PCI E), alternated video cards (BFG 8800GT OC2's), killed all oc'ing, everything I can think of. I have even see IT at work, they gave me a system test CD (PC Test?) which I used to test all the hardware, it passed... and I left it running a stress test overnight which it passed fine - 8 hours running. I seem to think it may be linked to Direct X or something similar, but I have all the latest versions of 9c and 10 - still no joy. My other thought is memory, but no issues reported. HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLP!

I am getting freezing like that also and only during gaming. It used to only happen when I try to use sli mode with my video cards. Now it is happening when only 1 card is running. The whole screen freezes and the sound stutters. I have to do a hard restart to get it back up.

Well, in my dispair, I bought a new Mother Board, probably well overdue...
After an hour of Beyond the Sword late in the game (highly resource intensive) had no problems when previously it would not last past 1 or 2 turns. I got my hands on an Asus P5N72-T, overclocked to 3GHz on first try with Memory running 800MHZ 4,4,4,12 without any other tweaks... May be considered obsolete now, but I didn't see the need to go to i7 yet as that would be a new CPU, new RAM as well as a significantly more expensive MoBo when the rig runs pretty damn well when there are no issues... BTW, running 182.08
