Hey all, I am going to try to get a better overclock soon, but my temps are way high. At idle all 4 cores range around 40-44C and at load around 50-56C. Thats on OEM HS boys and girls! Its really not too bad, but I am putting an after market HS on sometime later this week. Hopefully that will get the temps down. I so wish I had left my board at 0608. You are a genius diddler. It took me close to a month to find one setup that would work and yours was the only one that did w/o using insane voltages on the NB. Thanks again.

you should reseat with AS5 that will help alot but I got my overclock up and going it froze a few times so I upped the NB to 1.56 because I have 4x1gb dimms running at 2.259v so the ram controller was probably underpowered but all is well now I alread had the thermaltake NB cooler and I have a zalman SB cooler as well so im all set

I've got AS5 and an Arctic Cooler Freezer 7 Pro coming along with corsair XMS ram with 4-4-4-12 timings. I am really in the market for a NB cooler.

![]() By the way, what are you using to record you're CPU temps as the Asus Probe is no good. Coretemp is much more accurate. If you are using that and still getting under 60 degree's on full load then I wouldn't worry to much as thats what I hit quite often without any problems. Quote:

![]() The board works well, it just seems to fall short on being able to push the Quad Cores. So it all depends on what you want to do. Occasional OC, or constant and stable at max? If it's the latter, I'd suggest you drop out of the board or the Q6600. As you'll see from my sig, I've also been able to post at 3GHz w my Quad, but prefer to work at 2.6-2.8. Daily use my rig just chugs along at stock. this w MB temps same as CPU and case temps. If your intent is going full bore and keeping the Quad Core, there are great people here to help you through. I know I've learned here more than anywhere else about making my OC stable.

Lol....I get mine from selling my old parts to friends, and both my wife and I hold pretty good paying jobs (no kids yet, first is on the way). For now my wife has cut off my funds.....I'm hoping by year's end she'll approve the purchace of some new HDDs and video card.
On topic..... Made any progress on finding your minimum stable Vcore?

I found sticking with 1.31875 has been the best option for me. I had it working at 1.28 or something before but whenever I played Gears of War or Unreal Tournement 3 in Windows Vista 64 I would eventually experience games crashes but not OS crashing. v1.31875 is the lowest I was able to have with everything running perfectly and for long durations of time.
