So if I can get a steady 30-60FPS I'm a happy camper!
I hear ya. My machine is in the garage and needless to say, it gets hot in here during the summer and is the big reason I went with water cooling. I may add a water block for the video card down the road a bit, but right now i think the cheapest is $200.
Agreed with keeping it simple. That's why I'm liking the EVGA precision tool over rivatuner at the moment.

Thumbs up

Finally passed OCCT! I'm pretty happy with 3.3. Adjusting the memory timings and lowering the CPU voltage made all the difference. The temps were looking good. Topped out at 58c in a 81f room. The water temp was reading 30.6c at the res.
All in all not to shabby, although I thought the temps would have been better with water-cooling.

Sweet Deal!
I will update your stats! Are you going to stick with 3.3Ghz for now, or are you going to higher?

I think so for now, but then again. I am curios as to how low I can go with the v-core. We'll see.

hi

i a noob here.. what are your setting in your bios for the overvoltage to reach a stable running platform for 3.0ghz. i having problem here as i reaching 1.17v for cpu

Here are the levels my Q9300 @ 7.5x400 uses to run stable:Memory Voltage=1.175v
CPU VCore=1.175V
FSB Termination=1.200V
NB Vcore=1.25V
SB Vcore=1.50V
ICH Chipset=1.057V

Your board will probably need more voltage on the NB, and definately more vcore. 1.17v isn't much.

With 1.48v on my NB and 1.2525vcore I'm stable at 3.375GHz (450FSB). My chip also appears to be able to pull 3.45GHz without trouble, but my 8GB of RAM is flaking out on me at those speeds.

I have been lucky with my system in getting it to run stable at 3.0Ghz with 1.175v. It might have to do with my VID being 1.1875v. Even with my VCORE manualy set @ 1.175v the most I see @ 100% cpu usage is 1.14v and it is perplexing even me. But I agree with TriBeCa. Try setting you vcore up a few steps and maybe your NB. I have a different motherboard than you so that to might make the differance. Good luck, and keep us posted, and maybe a screen shot or 2.

Hi everyone, I just received my q9300 along with my other parts. I just have a slight problem, I ordered the wrong board (GA N650SLI DS4L) which has no support for it, and got it rma'd for a P7N SLI PLATINUM. I'm just wondering is it safe to oc it to 3.0 on stock cooling? And how do I overclock it? Thank you to anyone who answers me, and please add me to the club.
