teK0wnzU what do you think is it safe?
I think only for 3.7Ghz worth a try with watercooling...
To push to the limit my crusial mems and try push M/B limits.
I should used a different mobo IP35 pro is not what i was thinking...

Because of our low multiplier (7.5) we have to raise the FSB to make up for it. This is going to take it's tole on the NB and might be why I get Unstable at anything above 3.4Ghz. Once I get back from vacation I'm going to find a better way to keep my NB and SB cooler so I can reach a higher FSB without burning up my board. I know TriBeCa is at 3.4+ on just air but I'm sure if we get the settings all right with Ram and MoBo we can get to 3.5Ghz. I might even look into water cooling your CPU and NB just to be safe.

Keep us posted.

AFAIK the difference is just binning. Intel scoops up the chips that test out the best and calls them Xeons.

Yeah... could you do me a huge favor and report superpi 1M (and 32M if you don't mind taking the ~15 minutes to run it) and SiSoft Sandra CPU arithmetic benchmarks (and maybe the memory bandwidth and latency benches too)?

I'd really like to know how much my memory is holding back my system. Your at a slightly lower OC but your memory is running much faster, so I'd love to see how our benches compare.

What's wrong with ip35 pro?
I'd love to see you hit 3.7GHz on this chip, but I doubt it's going to happen....

I'm almost certain it's my RAM that's holding me back. Even at >1.6v NB and 1.3525vcore I couldn't get it stable over 460FSB. With 4GB of faster RAM instead of 8GB of 800MHz RAM I could probably get up to 3.5GHz.

Hello my friend i did what you asked. Here you are the results:

>> Q9300 Club <<-memory-bandwidth-test.png

>> Q9300 Club <<-processor-arithmetic-test.png

These from Sisoftware Sandra....

I made the 2 test for PI and it made 2 files at notepad
and when i open them it the begining tells PI=3...Whats that?
Sorry for ask, is my 3rd Day on O/C... I am a noobie yet!

SuperPi should show you a time in second (1M) and minutes (32M) when you complete it. Once it says "pi calculation done!".

Anyway... your memory bandwidth smokes mine, as does your MIPS... but i beat you (slightly) in
MFLOPS. In other words I made a real mistake in not buying faster RAM

Although I'm apparently using a different version of SiSoft Sandra--not sure if that matters or not.

My results are as follows:

SuperPi 1M: 14.891s
SuperPi 32M: 14m 42.422s

SiSoft Sandra:

Processor Arithemetic:
54148 MIPS
45545 MFLOPS

Processor Multi-Media:
isSSE3 355225 it/s
isSE2 277778 it/s

Multi-Core Efficiency:
Inter-Core Bandwidth: 18711 MB/s
Inter-Core Latency: 27 ns

Cache and Memory:
Combined Index: 47031 MB/s
Speed Factor: 66.1

Memory Bandwidth:
Integer: 7623 MB/s
Floating Point: 7612 MB/s

Memory Latency:
Random Access: 81ns
Speed Factor: 91.7

First off let me say nice page you guys got here.

Here's my work in progress. Hopefully I can get some more room out of the memory. Post more info later.

In the prosesor arithmetic test
I have 60213 MIPS,
and 43867 MFLOPS.... How can i have better MFLOPS result? Bigger than that?

Thanks, I think we have a good group of guys that are very helpful. And we like our Q9300. I just like how we keep pushing past all the nay sayers when it come to OCing the Q9300. I can't wait to get past 3.6Ghz.

Welcome

@teK0wnzU

Thanks. Would be nice to hit 3.6Ghz, but it looks like it means going over the recommended 1.3625v or to find how to unlock the multiplier. I got stuck with a 1.2250v Q9300, not sure if that what making it harder to clock.

Here's my latest stable clock 3.465Ghz idle 1.344v load 1.328v. ( +.10v FSB )

SiSoft Sandra:

Processor Arithemetic:
62290 MIPS
47034 MFLOPS

Rest still testing...

@wat3rb0y -> that's a great SuperPi Score even mine at 3.50Ghz ( still unstable yet) didn't get that. You didn't get that in vista x64?
