Q9300 is awesome! Its faster, cooler, and just much better all around. Especially when it gets full use of 4.1 SSE.

the problem is not can it do 3.7 it can.... the problem is the divider is very low at 7.5. not many boards cant run a very high FSB. I am happy with 3.4 on Air and my dual 9600's in SLi

@ martirw
Can't wait to see what your WaterCooled system can do. I'm sure the Q9300 can get to 3.6+Ghz but like pope said it's up the the mobo. If you want to get above 3.4Ghz you might want to look into WaterCooling the NB and even the SB. But after pricing it all out it was cheaper just to get the Q9550. But I'm still not finding anything that needs that kinda power. 3.0Ghz is all I'm going to need for now. I'm just looking forward to playing Spore when it comes out.

@alffjeld

Can you please post your bios info for the 3.51. I'm having a hard time with my overclock I'm not sure if it's the PC or OCCT. My setting work fine 3 or 4passes 30min of OCCT, then after 1 or 2 changes I get a crash code 4 even after reverting back. Not sure if it's the BIOS, Vista 64, or OCCT.

Also can't see why your system would be running to hot, as you are running water cool. Maybe you have the wrong TJmax set? Most say it's 95, but that doesn't seem right at least not for me my heatsink is cool to the touch. With a 85 tjmax I get around 25 for idle and 45 on load. It a little higher than what my hardware monitor shows which should be right.

Edit here's mine at 3.5Ghz only I still need a little time testing as I don't trust OCCT that much. I as soon as I check it a little more I'll post my bios settings.

To All...

Along with your settings that you post please post your CPU VID, I have noticed that the VID can be what holds back the CUP, not to mention the FSB of the mobo NB. Great job with the OCing. I am curently getting supplies ready for what I think will be a great NB mod for the EVGA 780i. I will keep you all posted with the goodness to follow.

Default 3.5 stable for 1 hour with OCCT 2.0.0!

ok, i took a chance with the temps, and ran a whole hour.
the temps is high here, its warm and the watersetup is passive, i also think i need a reseat of the cpu, there are to big diffrences in temps between the cores.
i have a screenshot after 1 hour stable here.
the settings in bios is:
divider:7.5
fsb:467
strap:333
ram:ddr2-935
vcore:1.340
pll:1.77
fsb.term.:1.42
