If you're going to upgrade, go with a TRUE. I've got one on my e6400 (both lapped) and it keeps the temp nice and cool even at my insane 1.55vcore. It's also much easier to get two fans on a TRUE than on a TT. Those extra heatpipes make a world of difference.

I will try to put a second fan on my Scythe for the push-pull effect. I've read in a review it helps about 2/3C. But then I'm awaiting my Noktua fans to arrive soon.

By the way...raised FSB to 435 now with Vcore 1.31875. Tested with Prime for half an hour. Will test longer this week.
So 3.262,5 GHz now...

I wouldn't recommend doing a full test at each FSB step. Get up to your FSB goal first, and try to get that stable. These tests put a lot of stress on your components, it's really worth trying to minimize the amount of stress testing you do.

Yeah, I have done 3 tests, 3.0, 3.2, 3.4
The main thing I'm looking for is the lowest stable vcore.
I want to keep mine @ 3.0Ghz with the best settings and make a guide for that. Then I will work my way up.

Also if you Guys would like to add your input on your desired speeds I will add it to the guide. It looks like you have both gone farther than I when it comes to OCing.

Also CoreTemp .99 Beta gives the wrong temps in WinXP 64. RealTemp and the temps in Ubuntu are more alike.

More to come.

*EDIT*
I added Stable Speed and vcore to the main page. If it is wrong let me know.

I'm pretty much at my desired speed. I mean, you can always wish for more but I wasn't even sure I'd get this far. I'm just looking for my max speed on air without lapping that stays within intel's specification for maximum temp and voltage.

Hmm...realtemp is giving me temps 10C lower than coretemp. What gives?

Someone once told me it had something to do with the TDP (Thermal Design Power) set @ 95W and most prods think its 105W. I know its all over my head but someone smart said it so I hope they are right.

Is Tribeca's Vcore the right one?

Thanks for your advice guys on stress-testing. I've done enough testing for now I guess with high room temps.
I will keep my speed for what it is now and will be using my PC for what I bought it...recording music with Pro Tools.
It must be so addictive...overclocking. I'm getting there after 2 days now.
Sometimes I think all you overclockers don't do anything else than finetuning.

My main goal will be to run my Q9300 at 3.4 GHz. I think adjustments need to be made to the NB/SB and memory to achieve that?

Probably yes...I hadn't even though to mention that, I have my NB at 1.48v. I had to go that high just to get my DIMMs to run at stock timings because I'm running 4 2GB modules.

Also, my vcore is not correct on the first post, I'm at 1.3125. The pic I posted shows 1.27, but that's just vdroop. The BIOS setting is 1.3125.

And yeah, OCing is definately addictive... as is building rigs. This q9300 rig I have is something I convinced my supervisor to let me spec and build, rather than getting a Mac (ugh) or a Dell or IBM or HP or something, which is what everyone else does.
