Hey TeK,
Long time no post, but I've got a question for you. I'm getting ready to re-due my current setup (wanted to go i7 but too much $$ right now), new video cards, bigger monitor, maybe ram and definitely a new case. I noticed you're using the cosmos case, and was wondering if you think it would be feasible to fit a 2x radiator setup internally on top? I've got a triple rad setup mounted externally on an Armour jr. right now for cooling the Q9300, but kinda looks crappy and want to clean it up. Think it would work? Thanks.

Here are some pics of the inside of the case.
![]() ![]() ![]() I hope it helps. I'm sure there is room in there for 2x radiators.

Thanks man. Looks like it could be done. I'm looking into one of those mountain mod cases as well. That way I can re-use the triple radiator.

Hey guys. I'm also a proud owner of a q9300, just stumbled across this forum and thought I'd join the club
__________________![]() My q9300 is currently clocked @ 3.2Ghz with a Vcore of 1.28 volts, Vtt 1.5, NB 1.5 and SB at 1.5. Have tried pushing it further, but I cant seem to get it stable past 3.2Ghz. I mean it'll boot into windows just fine, but just reboots after a while. Anyways 3.2Ghz is quite nice

Bet you could fit one rad in the front, and one in the roof. If it won't work.. Hey, we have dremels!

Thanks, teK! ^^
__________________Anyhow, any tips for OC'ing my Q9300? At the moment, this is the status of it; Intel Q9300 @ 3.0 GHz, 1.2V, on Water with FSB set at 1600 and 28 Celcius ambient. Could i raise the volt to 1.25 and aim at 3.2GHz? Or will that kill my cpu? Thanks.

No harm in trying, mine is running 3.2Ghz @ 1.28 volts no problems at all. You might need to bump the Vcore higer than 1.25, it really depends on your CPU VID I suppose.
__________________At 3.2+ the voltage settings get a little tricky, you might need to adjust the NB and VTT too, to get it stable.

Hi guys
__________________I am proud owner of Q9300 for about 2 months now. I decided to overclock my machine after I bought aftermarket cooler for CPU and optimized airflow in case. My machine is at my signature. Running at 333 Mhz FSB at stock. Machine is completely stable under stock settings even on really low voltages: Vcore = 1.1 V (this is minimum my motherboard allows me to go) CPU PLL = 1.5 V (minimum) CPU VTT (FSB Termination) = 1.2 V (minimum) Memory = 1.5 V (this is DDR3-1333 9-9-9-24 1T) NB core = 1.3 V (minimum) SB core = 1.5 V (minimum) Problem is that even after I've set voltages to: Vcore = 1.28 V (didn't want to go further - temperature = 49 C under load) (distance to TJmax on cores = 39 38 36 37) CPU PLL = 1.61 V CPU VTT (FSB Termination) = 1.38 V Memory = 1.71 V NB core = 1.4 V (tried it up to 1.68 V but after I passed 1.56 V I started getting BSOD during Windows startup) SB core = 1.56 V I cannot overclock it even on 340 Mhz FSB. My memory runs on 1066 Mhz during overclocking (it's DDR3-1333 mem so it should be ok). On 340 MHz FSB system boots ok, but under Prime95 stress test it fails with rounding error: Rounding was 0.5 expected less then 0.4. Does it mean that my CPU is not overclockable? :-( BTW. You can add me to the club ;-) Thanks in advance for any help ;-) MMasterSK
