MMasterSK:
What is the CPUs VID? You can find it with CPU-z or Core Temp. Lower is better. I'm Guessing you are trying to get to 3.0Ghz 7.5x 400x4. You might have to get the VCore to 1.3v Also I would unlink the memory from the FSB and see if that helps.

teK0wnzU thanks for answer :-)
__________________My memory is unlinked set to 1066 - stock timings. My CPU VID is 1.2125 V. Currently I achieved 1400 FSB Quad / 350 MHz FSB. Vcore = 1.175 V (1.20 V idle / 1.1860 V load ). CPU VTT = 1.24 V CPU PLL = 1.5 V Memory = 1.6 V (stock) (1.68 V in monitoring) NB core = 1.32 V SB core = 1.5 V NB GTL Ref = +10mV Strange thing is that setting Vcore to 1.16825 V and even to 1.16150 V gives same voltages in load and in idle as Vcore set to 1.175 V. Anyway - my current OC fails Prime95 small ftt test after 6,75 hours. Lower voltage (1.15 V in BIOS) failed after 4 minutes. I have to try raising voltage today and run test again. I will probably go for Vcore = 1.20 V in BIOS. That should be around 1.22 - 1.23 V in idle. If that fails then I think that it is not caused by Vcore. I will try to play with CPU VTT after that. What do you think about that? And finally you are right. I want to get it to 3.0 Ghz. Problem is that when I tried FSB 1400 with Vcore = 1.25 V (1.29 V idle) (CPU VTT = 1.24 V) my temperatures are getting little bit too high for me to raise voltage even more (69 C on hottest core). Probably my CPU VID is too high to get to 3.0 GHz. But if I get around 2.8 Ghz I will be happy :-) In case that I will not be able to get at least 1400 Mhz FSB Quad I will probably put this CPU back into box and buy E8400 and try to overclock that monster ;-)

Hmm
__________________ .. I probably found issue: CPU GTLRef01/02/03/04 .. I set it to default from auto at the beginning .. I didn't know what it is so I've just set it to DEFAULT. I still don't quite understand how I can get GTLRef in mV, but I understand what it is and how it works. I've set it up using equation found somewhere. Now I'm running previously stated setup with Vcore = 1.15000 V and VTT = 1.20000 V. While it would fail on this voltage in 1 minute if GTL was set to DEFAULT .. I'm now running Prime95 for 25 minutes without failure :-) I think I'm on good way of lowering voltages even more. I will report how it goes :-) Thanks for trying to help ;-) REP+ PS.: But that doesn't mean that I don't accept any advices ;-) PS2.: Is there somebody who can explain how I can get GTLRef 0,1,2,3 in mV?

SuppA-SnipA - Good luck !!!
__________________![]() I'm on it right now .. currently I'm on 2812 Mhz :-) Looks stable :-) If I knew about CPU GTL Ref 2 days ago I would already be running at 3.0 Ghz I guess :-)

Quote:
Vcore = 1.150 V in BIOS (1.19 V idle / 1.16 V load) VTT = 1.24 V GTL Ref 1,3 =~ -58mV GTL Ref 0,2 =~ -80mV FSB Q = 1550 Mhz ==> CPU freq =~ 2906 Mhz My temps are: Core 65, cpu 49 (Q-Fan turned on - I don't want to run all the time at 100% speed of this cooler if not needed) Currently ZALMAN is at 2330 rpm while running Prime95. RPM at 100% duty mode is 2750 rpm :-) I'm writing step by step log of what I changed and why I changed it during my overclocking of Q9300. But it's quick and dirty :-) I'm going to lower voltages on this FSB as much as I can, because I want to raise FSB even more (and I think it is possible). Raising FSB is generating much more heat now so I need to lower voltages as much as I can. I found out that by lowering GTL Ref I can go further down with voltages. I was stable from FSB Q = 1400 Mhz with same voltages as I currently have with GTL Ref 1,3 =~ -40 mV GTL Ref 0,2 =~ -60 mV That setup worked for up to FSB Q = 1500 Mhz. I tried raising voltages after that which worked, but was generating too much heat. So I decided to keep voltages same and try to change GTL. It worked :-) I need to try to lower GTL more and see if lower voltages will work.

anybody here with a zalman 9500 get a 3ghz oc with the fan at low speed setting? because when i increase my fan speed, i can hear the ball bearings rattle - quite annoying
