hi guys, reporting in. please allow me to join the OC fun.
i am kinda new to OC, being trying blindly and bravely, and so far (touch wood) system is not dead.

as you can see from my sig. i am using Asus P5Q3 mobo with air cooling, q9300
am trying to hit 450-500 FSB, but it always need some above 1.4 Vcc which kinda make the proc hot (idle @ 52'C, load @ 65'C)

i know there is this GTLRef which can help, but i can't related the things i read which tell me +MV, % metric to my mobo. please enlighten me..

thanks!

First i wanna say it`s my second day here so hi there mates, hope to stay here for a while.

I`ve recently purchased an EVGA 780i FTW and mounted my q9300. I had a lot of trouble with it until i figure the cause.

Here is my current stable OC - hoping to go further

i managed to push it a bit further with the same voltage 1.32v - i reached 3.5 ghz, left it in full load for 1 day and it seems to handle it quite well. the temps are ok too i guess - mid 60`s at full load.

my only problem is that i can reach this high overclock only with my memory in linked-sync mode. if i set it on manual at 1066 i get no post ...

my next goal is to get watercooling and raise the fsb so that the memory gets at 1066 in sync mode.

heloo.
I manage cu OC my q9300 cpu to 3Ghz. I have an GA-P31-DS3L mb. My cpu cooler ZEROtherm ZEN FZ120. I think i have a temp problem or a cpu wit bad sensor. Its big difeneta between the core temps. On one core had 78 C on the load. The mb sensor is reporting a good temp 48-50 C.
Can someone help me with this issue.. can i try OC further?
