That's strange. I had an E6600 with a 1.3500 VID, and I could run 3.2GHz on 1.35V (yes, same as the VID). This is common, actually. A lot of people find they can even undervolt their CPU to less than the VID - and still run at stock frequency.

Yep, I hit 3.2 with only one bump of the vcore, but to get to where I am now took a lot (I'm at just shy of 1.45). Probably need to bring my overclock down a little for the summer. I'll put that on my to-do list

It might have been an FSB hole that you were hitting (assuming you had enough vcore), maybe lower your multiplier and raise your mhz up some and you could get past it?
