Default Just got a e8400!

Hey guys just received an e8400, but here is my dilemma. I have a decent cpu already the e2180 and so far it has been great, a little laggy in crysis on high but no doubt a fine processor. I was wondering if I should sell the e8400 for some cash or just switch it into my main rig and sell the e2180. I am leaning toward selling the e8400 because I want to buy a new mp3 player, other than that, I have no other reason to sell it.

Sell e2180, keep e8400

EDIT: How high is your e2180 overclocked? 3,7ghz?

If so, sell the e8400!

The 8400 is a smokin' chip for sure, but it comes down to your personal preferences. It sounds like your choice is either a few more fps/faster folding or the mp3 player. Looks like you're leaning towards the mp3 player.

Do whichever will make you happier.

I disagree with these guys. 3.7GHz on the E2180 is plenty fast for anything you're doing. The lag in Crysis is from your 8800GS not the CPU. Sell the E8400, you'll get like $175-180 versus the $55-60 for the E2180. That way you'll have a sweet MP3 player that you want instead of a slightly faster comp.

Both my 8800 GTS died. Saving up for 2 more GTX260.

Turns out, both my 8800GTS 512 is alive, just bad memory from the OCZ reapers, causing me to remove my graphic card to boot up.

Very interesting, I was thinking exactly the same thing, I mean how much of a difference is this processor going to make. I heard the e8400 was godly in gaming but how does it really compare to an e2180 overclocked to 3.7ghz? Now that is the question that is needed to be answered before I make any decision.

The e8400 is better at gaming, but its just not worth the price when you already have a CPU at 3,7ghz.

Sell the e8400 and get a mp3 player.
