Has anybody seen the new intel HSF for the lower end stuff (the aluminum core, e2x00 series)? It's really...... um....... cheap... and small.
Old: ![]() New: Base View (look at the machining marks! )![]() Side View (dang that's small, i wonder what the temps will be?) ![]() New Mounting Structure ( i removed the pins to put on my older intel HSF for the build my dad was doing)

wow uh... that is really cheap. i thought my stock cooler for my q6600 was cheap as hell. i bet if i stuck my hand on the processor it would keep it cooler.

well for 45nm at low clocks and low volts i dont think they would be that bad

Wow! Doesn't look like that thing would cool an overheated lentil properly, but I guess Intel know their stuff and reckon their HS would do a standard job on a standard setup chip.
