The best way to tell whether you've got a good OC'ing chip is to first find out whether it's a B3 or G0 stepping. The latter has an S-Spec number of SLACR.
Secondly, download CoreTemp and check the VID. Anything over 1.28v VID isn't great

i know that so far, g0, 1.32 VID... which i know is not the best but after several discussion with many other members we came to the conclusion that what's most important is this so called build date and thats why i wanted to find out. Many members with 1.32vid have gotten their Q6600 to 3.6ghz on air

i know, and i do i agree that the best is to have a low VID but just for reference i wanted to know what dates or batches of the Q6600 where the best.
