Term is high for starters... I wouldn't think enough vcore either...

Also, it appears in your sig that you're running 1000mhz RAM and your 533x7.5 is overclocking your RAM?

Not what I meant to say. Meant to say keep my RAM at stock speeds 1066MHz but overclock my e8400 to 4.0GHz.

grunion: What voltage would you suggest for term?

For the life of me, I tried just changing the multi/FSB to 533x7.5 and I immediately get stop F4 error's in my face. Any ideas?
Try disabling 'Performance Enhance' and take tRFC off auto and raise it up to 12 or 15. Should hopefully loosen up the NB a little.

Well, followed NoGuru's advice on upping the term and mch accordingly, now I'm back to where Win7 won't recognize a graphics adapter. I've ran into this before, and looks like I won't be able to get of it. =/

This is odd. Try raising PCI frequency a notch or two.

I got it at stock right now (100MHz). I'm not one to play with the PCI Frequency because last time I did, I friend an old xfx 7600gs a long time ago.

I understand your concern, but I don't think one or two notches will hurt.
I would just like to know what the problem is, but if you don't feel comfortable then don't try it.
Maybe this could be elsewhere, let me ponder on it.

Edit: Post this same problem in the EP45 section, maybe another one of our kind can tell you.

My E8400 turns 1 today!

Oh boy!

I'm so glad I bought this chip a year ago. It's still a gaming beast. Amazing.

E8400 <3 happy gamer
