Not necessarily, but it can help. I had my Q6600 at 3.7GHz (412FSB, 9x multi) on my 680i A1 - Orthos 8hrs stable, mind you. The "1" revisions of the 680i have improved GTL reference voltages (which help for quads), but there is still no option on the BIOS to manually change them like the 780i has. Still managed to pull off the decent overclock on the older board though.

I got a question about the GTLV Refrences , it says the standard is 0.63
and u tell us we need to set it to 0.63 while trying 400-450FBS
then it shud go less than the standard if trying lets say 360?


P.S , i cannot get steady after 333 :S blue screen most of the time

nope remember what it does. it filters out noise so if you experiencing problems increasing it might stabilize your system. if you are stable rather not up it.
