Default Which has better overall performance? OC core 2 duo or OC Phenom
I am torn between AMD and Intel and cannot decide which would be best to go with. I watch movies all the time and love crysis. I don't know which would yeild better performance for my buck. I don't want to spend over $200 for my cpu either. As far as a MIPS/MFLOPS comparision which is faster after overclocking, for the price?

AMD = intel <= without overclocking.

intel > AMD <= with overclocking.

The OP asked for best performance for the buck, which means he won't be getting those extreme models. Phenom vs Q6600 would be a good one, their prices are very similar.

if you want use the prossesor without overclock go to phenom .
with overclock go to intel ,, because amd better than intel without overclock

even without overclock, the intel will use a lot less power.. saving money over time and straining your psu less increasing stability.

core 2 duo is crushing phenom, in my opinion and according to pretty much all the benchmarks online. of course, AMD's architecture does favor certain operations from what i hear, but 90% of the time the intel will perform faster per clock.

if you're overclocking then intel is even that much better.
