Default Yet another underclocked Multiplier Thread

Yup. I started my tweaking last night, and got up to about 2.88G before the system wouldn't boot. Alright, I reset the CMOS ( A Process, me being slow) and the computer booted. Alright. I go to start again, and the External Clock is now set to 6, as opposed to 8. And yes, before I get slammed, C1E and Speedstep are both off. Any more suggestions, or did I mess up my processor good?

Besides C1E and Speedstep, turn off CPU(TM), and Spread Spectrum.

um you mean in the bios or in windows?

if you mean in bios, you just need to change it back to the multi you want.

if in windows, have you stressed it to make sure it doesn't pick up?

In the BIOS. The Multiplier is set at 8, but the BIOS multiplier still reads 6

If your speed shows slower in windows than it does in bios it's because
you have x.5 multi disabled maybe?

Sorry if I'm totally wrong, just an idea.

It's an option i have on my Mobo and i think others do to.
It allows the multi to be set at decimals so x.5 of a number.

I had a problem with windows and my bios showing my speed
to be lower then i had set it until i enabled that option.

It should be on the same screen as the FSB speed selection.
