Hey guys.. I OC'ed my E8400 today but then they were a bit high compared to my old specs..
__________________I had my computer at 3.5ghz with 1.32 volts with 53degrees on orthos stress test.. Then I went up to 3.7ghz with 1.36volts but I had like 60degrees on orthos.. what a big diff! I'm on air cooling.. Is that normal? PS. I'm on a gigabyte EP45-DS3L board + thermalright ultra heatsink+fan on it. Some people say they can just go straight to 3.6ghz just by increasing the FSB but mine doesnt work. So none of those comments please

isn't coretemp better? because with realtemp.. It showed 50degrees idle.. on 3.5ghz.. so im pretty sure that's wrong

coretemp has the tjmax for 65nm processors, realtemp has the correct tjmax for 45nm processors. im not quite sure why it's showing such a high idle for you though

Voltage is your enemy on air IMO

At 1.36v @ 3.85 GHz my Coretemp under load was 59c with a TRUE HSF.
I think you are fine.
