OK, here are some BIOS settings you should check:

APIC Mode = Enabled
MPS Version Control For OS = 1.4
HPET Support = Enabled
GTLVREF Lane 0 - 3 = Auto (for now, you can tweak these later if needed)

Now i got home and ive noticed that it shows 4 cores in windows and deice manager but i still only show the Core 0 Temp and only one thread starts in Orthos!

EDIT: also CPU-z shows 1 Proc, and 1 core, and 1 Thread!

My Q6700 and 750i worked fine.. right out of the box, so I can't help you here. also when I changed to my new Q9650 it worked also. I cleared cmos. pulled old. added new. and all good.. there's got to be a setting you're missing. or the CPU could be bad.
