I love my Q9550... running Prime 95, surfing the web, and posting on OCN at the same time

Quick question though. I'm ~13 hours prime stable and then... freeze. Woke up and comp had been frozen for 3 hours.. does that mean anything in particular, meaning can I take a clue as to what voltage I should increase, or is it pretty much just random??

Prime stable for 13 hours at 1.302v.. trying again at 1.32 to see if I can get significantly longer stability. 3.8GHZ is fine for now.. would like to be in the 4GHz club again though since I used to have an E8400 in my rig.

you are on an nforce board

you cant really push the fsb you need to get one of these chips to 4.0 with one of those. my 780i is probably not as good with overclocking as your board, but neither can come close to what a p45 can offer.

both of my quads will go to 4.1 in my p45 board, but neither will go higher than ~3.7 in my 780i.

Try the following as a starting point.. you can get 3.825 easy 4GHz is just a real pain even to run like 5 mins of prime..

vcore 1.3875
fsb 1.3
ram 2.2 whatever..
nb 1.55
sb auto

gltref lanes 0-3 +15mv...

I'm +13 hours prime stable on this.
