Im running prime small ftt now for about 1.5hrs stable so far my temps max spike mind u 65,60,58,59 especially the 65 it averages to about 61 (the first core)

Anyway just wondering if there is anything u guys/gurls see that might be bad for possble lifespan of any of the hardware.

New here on the forums. Been lurking around for a little bit and finally decided to join. I'm running my Q9550 at 3.88Ghz and don't think my P5Q-SE2 motherboard can handle running 4GHz. I've disabled everything that relates to throttle and systhe just freezes. At 3.88GHz with the Mugen 2 HSF in running at spikes of 55c-57c at max load running Prime95. Are those temps good?

So I went with the Asus Xonar STX sound card. Funny thing is the card works but now my system is crashing by locking up due to the overclock.

Anyone know why adding a PCI-E sound card would cause system lockups?

Only thing I can think of is if my memory is overheating because the fans are not on them now.

@ Gmpotu Just curious what Card were you using before. I have an X-Fi XtremeGamer and XtremeAudio on 64-Bit win7 systems and i have no problems however i am looking to upgrade and as i have 8gigs too i am wary of creating problems.

I was using SB Audigy 2, a pretty old card. I'm mainly pissed that they didn't take responsibility for it. I wasted two weeks talking to people from singapore that I could barely understand who did nothing but send me emails with broken links to the knowledge base on creative's website which I had already looked into.

One of my emails got a response asking me 2 questions that were answered in the same email they replied too.

I finally spoke to a tech support rep who said he also has a creative card and his does not work and the only thing to do is wait for new drivers.

I'm sorry but when the OS has been out for over a year in it's beta stage if you still don't have a working driver you're dropping the ball or you need to post on your website that you're no longer supporting the Legacy hardware.

It was way past time for me to upgrade but the customer service left a bad taste in my mouth.

I'm now using Asus Xonar STX and it works great. Also I moved my video card and new sound card to different slots on my mobo and reattached the fan over my memory and didn't get any lockups today so hopefully it will work out.

Hello, I have a Q9550 Rev C1 OC @ 3.4 Ghz Stable, Fsb Freq 400 X 8.5, Dram Freq 1066 3:4 533x2. thats all, Auto 4 the other settings!!
I cant put it to 3.8 Ghz if someone can help me here I am. I just need a BIOS configuration who can run stable on 3.8 Ghz in a Rampage Formula BIOS That s it

I have the sane board and mine E0 stepping runs at 4.0ghz
vcore 1.35v
NB 1.39v
Dram 2.10v
fsb/vtt 1.38v (our board has serious droop here)
LLC on
CPU gtl .63x
NB gtl .67x
CPU clock skew 200ps
NB clockskew 100ps (clock skew is super important, I didn't get stable at 4.0 until adjusting this setting)

hope that helps. Try 3.8 first the. Move up to 4.0
