Hey guys, I'd be happy to join.
I'm at 3.83 24/7. CPU Vcore Bios - 1.35 Idle - 1.32 Load - 1.3 LLC is off 450 FSB and multiplier is 8.5 obv. Max temps at load 53 is the highest a core has gone so far with occt or prime, and that's rare. NB stays around 54 or so max. All this was only possible after the pencil mod. I should be able to get less droop I would think. I have read a number of people getting it down to .008 with the mod. I seemed to cover the damn thing with led... IDK I will prob aim for 4.0 shortly. I think my temps have some room. The only thing close is my NB. I'd like to get a fan on there soon. Proof http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=460817 (Odd, the validation is seeing my 8500 ram as 6400.)

Well, so far the C1's in this thread are reaching higher clock speeds, surprisingly. Three E0's and only 1 has reached 4 GHz, but both C1's have reached 4 GHz on fairly low voltages. JCasper may reach 4, but it looks like he might be approaching a wall since he had to increase his voltage to over 1.3 just to reach 3.83.
__________________On Monday I ordered a Q9550 from NewEgg to replace my e6600. I received it today and I was surprised to discover it was a C1 (pack date 10/2/08), so apparently there are still some of these floating around in the market, even at this late date. I was thinking of exchanging it (hoping that the replacement will be an E0 stepping) but after reading this thread I may give my C1 a go. HB

Well. Mind you I haven't tweaked my vdroop quite right yet. I also run with LLC off. I think I could easily hit 4 if my droop was lowered or if I enabled LLC. All my settings are under the safe max range, so I think I have room.
I really haven't experimented with anything past where I'm at now. Also, the max safe for this chip is 1.3625 and many operate over that with no degradation. Not sure why people aren't ordering off lagoom.com They guarantee steppings.

I do feel like I should be capable of more. I guess I didn't get the best chip? 4.0 at 1.2 on a C1... Wow. That's crazy.

Can I join?
Q9550 C1 (thanks newegg for the C1 when everyone else is getting E0's) I had it at 3.65Ghz Stock voltage for the short time it was on, (I leak tested my loop and just bumped up the FSB to test it to see what the new setup could do... it definitely has a lot more in it). Temps were 30-32c across all cores under load for 20 minutes with an ambient of 28c. Then my HD4870 completely died so I haven't been able to do anything more to it. You can just put TBA for my speed, voltage, etc, I am waiting on my 4870X2 to get here (should arrive today). (my goal is 4.5Ghz stable)

3.65 on stock voltage is definitely promising (esp. for a C1), albeit too early to tell.
