That's true. It's L829A970. But we kinda have the same problem. I know this is an akward question but. Does LLC cause instability @ high clocks?

You mean try above 3.4 with 2 gb only? I'm running vista. Isn't that a little insuffecient for vista? And What if i do establish a stable oc? I'm never gonna use 3 gb again?

2GB is fine for Vista. If it does work and it is stable then try putting the ram in the other 2 slots on your motherboard. I'm assuming its 2GB + 1GB?

I just made a huuuge discovery! Loose ram settings cause instability! Omg i just passed 25+25 50 passes linX with my unrealistic 3.6! I didn't know that. Did you?

That's odd, normally loose timings increase stability. Either way glad you got it working!

if the ram made that much of a difference you should try a different stick of ram...i'm using some g.skill 800s and i have all the timings on autos..and they haven't given me any problems

Is the retention bracket for the Xig necessary? I ordered from heatsinkfactory.com and the bracket was out of stock, and its an annoying 15$ to order from newegg because of their stupid shipping

honestly 5.99$ for something that weighs like .1 pound and is shipping from a warehouse 30 minutes from me?
