I actually have a Q9550 and the Q9650 both on my desks. My sig rig is the Q9650, but my second rig is the Q9550 C1, which I just put in last week, and OCed to 3.95Ghz, and using as my Home Server / Workstation 2.

Nice pics What are those CPU boxes in the one picture? Quads?

Anyways. Run CPU-Z, and in the last tab, there will be a verification thing, publish a verification online, and provide the link. Post your vcore in BIOS, whether you have LLC (Load Line Calibration) on or off, and whether or not you pencil modded your motherboard.

Although, it really doesn't matter anymore, as I do not think the OP updates the list anymore. This thread has become more of show off your overclock, and help others with the Q9550 reach high overclocks.

If you have memory problems, or BSOD, or anything else you think has something to do with RAM, try raising the NB, if you think the problem has more to do with CPU, raise the vcore (do not go over 1.4v in BIOS) or the CPU termination voltage (suggested not to go over 1.4v on this either because it can cause damage to your chip, however, nothing has been proven, but it is still good to follow this as a guideline).

Okay, thanks for the info. I actually used this thread to help me OC my Q9550. My E0 Q9650 was easy with the same motherboard, but this C1 revision of Q9550 was a bit more tricky. My new set of RAMS should get here tomorrow, which is my bottleneck right now, so I can see how far I can push this thing.

BTW, those Intel boxes are my E8400 I am using to build 4 workstations for a client. They are nothing too exciting though, just mATX builds for local dentist office.

You may have mentioned this before and I didn't see it but did you ever lower the CPU multi and stress test the FSB? It may be your board holding you back and not necessarily the CPU. When I did my oc I set the FSB to what I wanted and lowered the CPU multi as well as setting my RAM divider to 1:1. Then I ran a prime 95 blend test and tweaked the voltages until I could get at least 12hrs stable. Once I was satisfied with the FSB stability then I put my CPU multi back to 8.5 and worked on getting the CPU stable.

hello, friends my system is:

P5Q3 Deluxe
Psu corsair 1000W
Q9550 E0
Noctua U12p
2x2gb DDR3 Corsair DHX 1333mhz, 1,6v , 9-9-9-24

I bought these recently and I'd like some help overclocking
if possible with more detailed bios settings for advanced overclocking features.

picture of the bios is needed?

which bios should I use?

thanks in advance.

You should always use the latest BIOS. For 4Ghz, because of you having E0 (easier, and less volts for 4Ghz rather than C1), You might be able to just input the settings and get stable.

Run GPU FSB @ 475, RAM @ stock should be fine
Run the CPU/FSB Termination voltage @ 1.34
Run the NB voltage @ 1.34
Run the vcore @ 1.36250 in BIOS

If you get this to work stable, slowly lower the voltages until you are no longer stable. If you are not stable, try and raise the vcore a notch or 2 until you become stable, and if raising the vcore does not help, raise the termination voltage and NB voltage a notch or 2.

The latest bios from the Asus site did not work, the pc did not boot. Perhaps problems in memory-ram.

I will post photos of the BIOS (setup), what do you think?

I am using BIOS version 1901.

Thank you very much.
