Can I join? 3.34 GHz (393 x 8.5) E0 Stock voltages (I don't want to touch voltages since it could fry it). I could probably get it higher but I've only gotten my ram stable at up to 474 MHz, iirc.
Also I love this thing, it's like it's on meth, cocaine, and steroids, so glad I got it.
EDIT: Forgot the validation: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=564649

You'll never fry it within reason. It's specified by Intel up to 1.36V or whatever, and it could take more than that.
So if your temperatures and hardware allow it, why not go to, say, 1.35V? Or at least the little it would take to get it to 3.5?

My temps go up to 60°C on stress testing, could I try? And you sure there's no risk? But my ram also stops me at 474 MHz, least it did with my E7300 anyway

Well, I guess I wouldn't really want to go above those temps.

If you changed the RAM ratio to linked/synced will run at FSB speed, you'd be able to get it quite a bit higher.

If you want to go higher then I guess you need better cooling solutions.

45C @ idle is bad? REALLY? The Q9550 has a thermal limit of 71C? What are average temps for air cooled Q9550's? I figured I'm not bad when some H2O cooled chips are @ 35-40 idle, and hit 60C under load!!!

I am going to get a tower... for better cooling thinking of this Arctic Cooling Freezer Xtreme Rev.2, as I've been using AC products for years!

AC fans/heatsinks may not always be the top performers, but they are quiet, quiet, quiet! ... and this Freezer Xtreme Rev.2 looks to be both!

45*C isn't awful, it's not that important - your CPU is fine at that temp. Your load temps are the clincher, what are you on load?

i'd recommend the xigmatek, i get 52c full load on prime

my AC 7 idled at 35 though, is yours seated correctly? sometimes the push pins can pop out

I've had excessive heat even with old E4500 on my AC7. I'm beginning to think it's my MB as the chipset/cpu sure gets hot... always have, even at stock speeds & volts! Reliable, but warmer than I'd like!

There's another reason I need to order the UD3P!

Looks around and thinks, "Good, she's nowhere around!". LOL!

Got it 7 hours prime95 stable at 3.75 with 1.35V on it just now.
M'eh.
try keeping the vcore at 1.35, looks like that may work. and with those gtlref v it gonna take a whole lot of tweaking, what you are looking for is a window for each lane so test for the lowest v it will pass and then the highest then set it to the middle value. its gonna take tons of time but it will be worth it if you can get 4.0 stable.

Default A little more stable...

My temps were a little on the high side because I had fans set to "optimal" which is a quiet low rpm mode on my board. I changed settings to "performance" and it isnt that much louder... unless things get warm and fans kick into high rpms!

Now after 24 hour test last night... here are my RealTemp #s(ran OCCT 2hrs):

Minimum: 40-35-35-39

Maximum: 54-50-50-51

I also have discovered what may be culprit on my 20% unstability (20% of boots result in a 10-15 min reboot). If system stays on past 15-20 mins its fine! Hell Ive been up at those temps OCZ sez my P5B MB doesnt work well (has known stability issues) with the reaper 2GHz sticks, that dam P965 chipset!

Oh well... UD3P will be here today and I cant wait! newegg.com sez shipped and out for delivery! <-- she doesnt know! MUHAHAAAAA!!!!
Sack lunches for rest of month! LOL!

I'm gonna stay with AC-FP7 cpu cooler for now, to compare temps when I get to better P45 chipset on the new Gigabyte MB! <-- I think I hear a ups truck... gotta go!
