Most places won't tell you. There are some that let you choose, like tankguys (there was one other mentioned here, I don't remember who it was), but you'll pay more for it. I got my C1 from Fry's, and I heard Newegg was selling C1's too...but you don't get to choose from either of those.

Lagoom.com is another source of choosing a E0 stepping. But as you can see other members who have C1 stepping are overclocking to 4.0ghz using the Gigabyte EP45-UD3P mobo. At the moment getting either stepping will be fine.

just overclocked mine to 3.4ghz (400x8.5) didn't touch the vcore and the temps seems to be the same, but , not impress...

Ok well seeing that I haven't seen much people with a Q9550 and DFI Blood Iron-P35-T2RL i'm proud to be 1 of the first posting with it. I have my cpu at 3.7 right now at 1.28 volts and I know everyone uses prime95 blend but I used OCCT custom half hour mixed and also ran a 3Dmark06 run as well. I kinda like OCCT better because it's shorter and hasn't failed me yet but then again that's just me anyway here's the screens below and validation is in my sig as well I love this cpu, the temps and performance are just amazing to me

I'm working on pushing this cpu further but for some reason something is holding me back for now but i'll get it sooner or later Oh and in one pic it shows 1.28 and the other it says 1.31 it hops up and down for some reason but in the Bios it's definitely 1.28
