Exclamation Intel vs AMD Ultimate Showdown!

OH YEA! I went there.

I can hear the fanboys clambering in their mom's basement.

THIS COMING WEEKEND!

SHOWDOWN OF THE CENTURY!!!

I AM GOING TO ANSWER THE QUESTION EVERYONE WANTS TO KNOW!

Which Processor is more rugged? AMD or Intel.

I will hold a Poll until this weekend...at which point we will see the test results.

The processors that will be competing are dated. So if you were expecting Quad-core's and Phenoms...your SOL.

What do I look like...some sort of money machine?

STAY TUNED!

What exactly is this? Are you going to pump as much vcore into each and see which one lasts the longest?

This is bringing a lot of old arguments back.
I'm not an outright follower of Intel or AMD but here's some facts:

1. Intel's most powerful available processor from your average computer store beats AMD's hands down

2. You wanna buy a cheap processor? AMD have far better bang for buck

3. Intel occasionaly sell pre-overclocked processors for far more than they are worth and don't advertise that they already idle at 55 degrees C. Now i'm not sure if AMD do this to but in my experience they haven't.

Bottom line, stop being patriotic about a processor, it's personal preference and the sooner you stop lying to yourself and face it the better for the society that has to deal with your constant winging and arguments.

meh i am not a fanboy, it is tagged becuase my current computer has a P4...if i could remove the tag i would...and if you look at my systems in my profile i actually have two AMD machines...which is twice as many Intel machines.

...Which doesnt mean I am twice as biased with intel...

WHAT KIND OF QUESTION IS THAT!

lol

oh and even better if you have an old processor (or new one) that you want me to test with the others. feel free to mail it...lol

I don't see a point to this....First of all, you're not using CPUs that anyone uses anymore (except for maybe you), and what does "most rugged" mean? Which can take more voltage? If so, there's probably already an answer to that somewhere on the Internet since these processors are so old, and that doesn't tell you much anyway. An AMD one might take something retarded like 1.8Vcore and only get 3.0GHz, while the Intel takes 1.6V and gets 4.5+GHz (not real numbers, just making a point).
