Default Need an opinion on something...

I've been considering creating some charts and graphs that would depict how much of an impact overclocking my q6600 and evga gtx 260+ (core 216 and possibly with my older x1800gto2 as well as a 6600gt) would have on framerates, F@H times (possibly) and maybe on some benchmarks. I just want to get an idea of how many people would find it useful or interesting. In all honesty, I don't even know if this has been done before because I didn't encounter any similar thread or topic. (Sorry if this has been done before >.<!) Personally, I already know that overclocking (granted that you maintain a stability!) will increase the speed at which something will run or complete, but recently I've just been curious as to just HOW MUCH it would truly impact some of my games, possibly my folding as well as my benching. If I do decide to do this, I would attempt to eliminate all variables. I would try both the newest beta graphics drivers as well as the latest stable ones, I would try overclocking the cpu to several different levels such as stock (2.4Ghz), a slight overclock (3Ghz) a high overclock (3.6Ghz) and possibly a max (with stable voltage) overclock (Which AFAIK @ 1.55V plus vdroop I only get to ABOUT 3.74-3.8. More testing is needed, but both my motherboard and my memory should have more room to go should the need arise.) I would also clock my video card in a similar manner with the cpu while keeping all variables that I can think of aside. In short, I just wanted to propose this idea and see if it would be something you guys would find useful or if it would just be a personal adventure. Any feedback would be appreciated!

That sounds like a lot of work to do right, but if you've got the time and initiative, go for it! I'd be very interested to see how overclocking impacts performance, even if your system is a bit different than mine.

One suggestion - include temperatures in your visuals. It would be helpful to see how much they go up at each overclock point.
