Let us know if the new memory does anything to fix the problem. Although I am still convinced that this is some type of virus, since it is happening to so many people at once. We'll see though. |

Same thing here...
Was working / browsing the web (using chrome) and on april 5th the PC shut down by itself. After slooow restart, Windows messenger was crashing, and it does the freezing/beeping randomly after a while (between 1 min and 1h30 usually). Mouse still moves though. Booting in safe mode without network is fine (ran for several hours, so it's not a hardware issue) Safe mode with network freezes (even with ethernet cable unplugged !) |

Hey guys
An Update: I just installed my new hard drive and memory and everything seems to be working ok now. Been working well over an hour with everything going as I normally would. I put both my new ram and hard drive in, so I don't know if it's the hard drive or memory. If you can afford to, I suggest formatting and installing windows again, since windows recovery didn't work for me and I had way too much data to back up and it would keep crashing. I'm going to stick my other ram in and see if it crashes, if it doesn't then i'm going to put my old hard drives in and try copy across as many files as I can. |
