Yes those Gigabyte P45 boards are awesome OCer. Heck, I think intel chipsets in general OC better than nvidia. My Asus P5E-VM (Intel G35 chipset) OCs better than my roommate's eVGA 780i board.
However, that doesn't mean you can't OC on a nvidia board. I would say you should save the money, because the P5NE-SLI should be able to do what you want.
