Default GB p45 & q8200

so my amd board and cpu got kind of "hit by lightning" so i have in plan to buy a intel desktop...so what do you think about

the intel q8200 (i know q6600 is better but in the whole country there aren't any left )

and this mobo

http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...e=GA-EP45-DS3P

are they a good combination? could the q8200 reach at least 3.3ghz?

does anyone got a better suggestion for a cpu and mobo under 370$?

p.s. by "hit by lightning" i mean i overclocked and something went wrong so my mobo and cpu got killed with a lazzy 3.3ghz overclock and 1.4v (on 3.4ghz with 1.5v everything worked great and passed benching so i don't know what happend)

does anyone got a better suggestion for a cpu and mobo (with cfx) under 370$?

I suggest you get one of Gigabyte's Ultra Durable 3 boards (EP45-UD3*)
ex.http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/...=GA-EP45T-UD3P

They're much better overclockers

Well...you might be able to get 3.3 on the Q8200. But I would look into a Q9xxx chip if you can. Or a Q8400.

As it would take 412 FSB to hit 3.3 on the Q8200.

It would only take 366.7 FSB to hit 3.3 on a Q8400 because of its 9x multi. Which is much more feasable for a quad.

Also, why not consider going to another AMD setup?

You could easily get a Phenom II x4 & Board for the same price. Which would land you in a better path of upgrade down the line with DDR3 and chipsets.

i don't need it now,who knows for later...but the UD3R has a better heatpipe doesn't it? and the price is only 3$ more for the UD3R

Yes. The UD3R has better cooling components. Regarding Q8200, it is a 7x chip but the board should help. Not much selections at your place.
