So I'm what's called a frugal gamer. I get my kicks by seeing how little I can spend and how much I can get out of my rig for as little money as possible.

You might scold me but I'm wondering which one of you has an LCD at 1600 dpi and 160htz<---- do any LCDs get that? Guess how much I paid for it? $0 So I scrounge around for deals to see what I can squeeze out of a rig. I found this. http://configure.us.dell.com/dellsto...kc=&oc=dddadg4 Since the rig will run on only the 300wt ps provided I won't be doing any overclocking, I understand the q8200 isn't good at it anyway. So who's got one and how good is it as is? From what I understand it will quadruple my current passmark and it is faster stock then the Amd 9950. It will also allow my ati 4670 to be utilized fully. Last question I've heard that the inspiron power supplies are proprietary. If I ever want to put a better PS in will I have to bring out the hack saw?

Most Dell computers have custom-built/shaped PSU's. They're near enough impossible to upgrade.
If you're what I consider a 'cheap-ass gamer', then you'd be as happy as larry buying a cheap mATX case and power supply deal, then swapping out the internals of your Dell to make way for a completely different look.

It is an update from what you have now, that's pretty much it. I haven't seen many reviews for these "newer" quads yet.

IMO that is the worst quad, I had it for a week before I swapped it with my brothers Q9450, which he still hasn't noticed yet, it was very terrible for overclocking too.

OP: Get an E8400 or something off someone on OCN. Damned cheap, best prices I've found so far online. I made the mistake of going Q8200, And it basically slapped the soap out of my hands.

I'm kind of intrigued by the cheaper quads too, but IMO they're not cheap enough. $135 and I'm there. If you're hell bent on quad core performance you may be better off getting a used Q6600 at that price.
