You can't change your VID. Generally, a lower VID means the chip will require less volts at higher clocks and OC better. Of course it still depends heavily on the chip itself and a low VID is no guarantee of a good OC.\

Your VID is pretty high, so you may have a harder time getting 3.6 stable, and require more volts than you'd want to run through that chip.

vFSB: 1.35

nForce: 1.45

My ram timings are 5-5-5-15 2T, and my FSB is 400x9(locked)

Can anyone help me? My temps are only at 55ish load, 38 idle.
Same vid, same mobo, same chip here.

LOLWUT. 3,60 on air...? I'm on water and after two hours of Linpack it hits 80șC, damn.

First of all, go x8. For me, it works with 1,40 fsb, and 1,55 SPP. LET NF200 ALONE. At Auto.
The core... 1,525 and lowering is a good start. My GTLs also are 105-100-95-85...

...but that's for me. Your chip and mobo can (and probabily will) be different.

But you can give it a try.

Alright, cranked up the voltage quite a bit, running OCCT now, hopefully we'll be good After 10 min, temps are 58, 57, 56, 56 with full fan speeds on all 6 fans in my case haha.

Damn no good...1.53125 vCore, 1.45 FSB, 1.55 SPP

You think I just can't get any higher with my air cooling? If I got water, would it make a difference?

Your VID is I believe the highest the q6600 goes... Some Quad processors aren't made to go to 3.6.

I did it!! Ahaha I'm so happy right now! 3.6 on air baby! Temps didn't go over 60 for the whole test. Idle temps at 37, load temps at 58 with fans on full.
Idle at 39-40 with fans on low, don't even wanna try load. Thanks for all of your help guys, +rep to you all.
