Default Would it be worth the upgrade?

I know this is a noob question but here goes. I'm running a e5200 at 3.8 as shown in sig. I'm running a 12.5 multi with 1216 fsb and ram at ddr2 811. This is just hypothetical by the way. If I bought a e7400 and ran at the same cpu speed at 3.8 but on a faster fsb, say 422 at 10.5 milti. Not sure what ram would run at depending on memory dividers with a 266 fsb processor I would guess ram at 950+. Would I see a performance gain in this rig? Remember this is just a hypothetical question and numbers are not exact and would it be worth the $119 for the processor to upgrade? I've done some googling on this subject but couldn't find anything specific. Thanks in advance.

it would be an improvement. not worth $120 in my honest opinion though. gains would be miniscule

I was just thinking that a faster fsb and ram at the same processor speed would increase performance. What if I went to a e8000 series processor under the same conditions.

Please stick with your gear. The CPU is not bottlenecking games, CPU does 1fps

Its the graphcis card that does all the work and graphics. Once you have a CPU intel @ 3.2 and AMD equally 3.2 ,,, games run @ same frames per rate. I have tested this with FEAR 2 demo, FEAR Combat , UT3 ,, Far Cry 2 .

just FYI: Your games will play the same from 3 to 3.2ghz on, after that its pointless the CPU cant tax a game yet...

It's flawless along with the new ubber drivers,,,, gl

I wasn't concerned so much about games as with increasing speeds with video encoding, adobe reader, winrar things like that.
