Default Spectrum analyzer?

My bios has the spectrum analyzer set at +/-25% . is this right or should it be disabled

I think most mobo's refer that to "spread spectrum" and it should be disabled when overclocking.

That's correct. Spread spectrum should be disabled when ocing the CPU. According to this awesome FAQ http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/1567-intel-overclocking-guide.html by NoAffinity.
