Default E8500 OC OCCT stable, GPU folding BSOD?

Thanks to everyone's help I've managed to OC my E8500 to 4.2Ghz and it passed OCCT stress test for 10 hours (on large data set and high priority)

However, when I try to fold with GPU client I encounter BSOD, sometimes within 10 mins of starting the fold. I've tried to fold at stock settings for hours at time and everything would go fine (I've left it folding while at work for a more extensive test).

I am running Windows 7 RC1 with the latest nVidia driver 185.85. The latest nVidia GPU folding client.

I am at lost as I've spent weeks trying to tweak this system. I am looking for some input as to what the problem might be. Please let me know if you need more information

System spec:
E8500 @ 4.2 Ghz (444x9.5)
Corsair XMS2 DDR2 2x2gb @ 1066 stock 2.1V
Gigabyte EP45-UD3P bios F9
EVGA GTX 260 Core 216 SC 55nm (driver 185.85)
Corsair 650W PSU
Seagate 1TB HDD 7200.11
Windows 7 RC1

It's a really long shot but I'd test your other components in prime95, memtest, whatever first to make sure that it is/isn't the GPU... sounds like a weird problem though :S

Have you tried the PSU test with OCCT? It tests both the GPU & CPU at the same time -- if it's stable with that test, then it's weird indeed :/ Also, what temperatures are you getting while running this PSU test?

I'd also check the voltage (12v) while testing the GPU (or Power supply test) under OCCT to see if there's a lot of variance. I'd be surprised you had much considering you have a 650w (or is it a 850w as your profile suggests), but since you're having the issue with folding, but not while CPU burning, I can only guess that the issue happens when both are running at the same time.

No I haven't tried the PSU test, but that is a great suggestion. I'll give it a shot when I get home, but like you said, I doubt it's the PSU; I have the 650W powering my lan party rig.
