Hi guys! How are you! I am not a new overclocker but I am new to E8600 model only! I was very lucky to find one in eBay for 150€ only!! My previous chip was c2d E6750 overclocked at 3.4 GHz! But E8600 is an awesome chip for anybody that knows about core 2 duo family!
Anyway I am glad to find you guys and I hope to help each other about overclocking this awesome chip!
By the way I am currently at 4.3 GHz with 1.26v but I haven't stressed it a lot yet.
My temps are idle: 41 C load: 63 C Are they ok?

wow 4.3ghz at 1.26? thats pretty impressive, let us know if it is stable or not.

temps look pretty good. and yes, it's a great chip for voltage:clock speed.

ill add you up. I see you are new to the site. So go to the User CP at the top of the webpage and add you system on the left hand side, instead of writing it out in your sig.

Well it wasn't stable at that voltage.I was keep getting a rounding error so I was testing different volages until 1.318V but still the same issue. So I decided to underclock a little my RAM and things are getting better!! Now I lowered the vcore at 1.3 and seems to running ok... I am not finished yet though. It's really strange because I have only 1.30 Volts and still my temperature under load is 65C. Is that normal?

I fixed my sig! I was hurry to post! Apologize to that!!
So it's jim_power - 4.3 GHz - 1.30V (currently) I do not have a batch number cause of the eBay purchase and I cant uninstall the CPU right now.. Once again, awesome chip!!

no worries my friend. Yes i have the same cooler as you, and get similar temps when i was at 4.2, like 61c so yeah temps seem okay.

Hopefully be getting a Prolimatech Megahalems soon so i'll try rack up the clocks to 4.4ghz or 4.5ghz for everyday use.

I'll edit your name on the list Welcome to the club by the way!

I am so happy to be here with you guys! You are doing an excellent job! Thanks for the info about the cooler! It is decent for that price! Ow! We have tha same case too! I have just bought it the HAF and it does his job and even more! My rig is so cool and I am from Greece! We sure have high temps here in summer!!
Well prime seems to be fine! I lowered the core voltage to 1.30 and temps wend down at load from 70C to 65C! Nice. I might lower the voltage a little if that doesn't result in errors!! Will report here for sure!

yeah temps in summer aren't good for us PC users, see how low you can get those volts, then maybe jack up the clock speeds?

I think I 'll leave it be for now. I am very happy at 4.3Ghz! It is high enough for me I suppose! I want to keep my CPU as cool as possible. My RAM worries me! I will play with its speed later! Currently it's clocked at 1032MHz.

don't worry about RAM too much, the benefits are quite small compared the problems it can cause with instability, but congrats on the current speeds of things!

Thanks mate! You are absolutely right about RAM! When I tried increase it even 20 MHz it cause rounding errors in prime... So I 'll leave it the way it is! The performance is outstanding! You can tell by the way it converts a movie (I am getting around 8.00x in ConvertXtoDvd) and decompress a large rar file!!
Also in Everest Memory Read I 'm getting 8344 MB/s, Memory Write 9050 MB/s (!) and Latency 63,5 ns!! SuperPI is at that moment 10.971 sec!!!
