I have a Q6600 clocked at 3.6 sitting under a TRUE. I was just wondering before I buy my water stuff if it will make a big difference if I overclocked to 4.0ghz.

If you can get to 4.0ghz then it would be
1.) Amazing 2.) Almost un-believable 3.) freakin amazing. Either way, that's 400mhz more so that is a pretty big jump.

400mhz is a pretty big jump in performance.
in CPU intensive games you might get 5-10 FPS, shave quarter/half a second of SuperPI, and maybe even down your render times by 5-10 minutes

Will 400MHz matter in terms of a personal accomplishment and something to be proud of on OCN? Absolutely!
Will that extra 400MHz matter in terms of noticeable, real-world performance? Probably not, and if it does it probably won't be a significant increase. But this is OCN and you're getting WC for a reason, so I says go for it!

It's only 11%... so you would get UP TO an 11% jump in FPS in games, UP TO an 11% decrease in render times, etc. You're not guaranteed anything, obviously, since other hardware can be the bottleneck as well.

Sell your q6600 and save the money you plan on using for a W/C setup then buy a q9650. Most q9650 can clock to 4ghz with good air cooling and a decent overclocking board.

I am sure you can get 3.8Ghz with air cooling. Then it will be 200Mhz which is not a big jump.

Yes. If you can hit 4GHz I'd be impressed, 72C load temps are nothing to worry about.
