Right now i am on Intel Q6700 & ASRock P45R2000.
I am using Kingston HyperX PC8500 DDR2 and have not applied any overcloking. The CPU/RAM ratio is 1/2. So what disturbs me is that despite the fact, that CPU should work at 10X 266 MHz, it works just at 6X 266 MHz and sometimes the multiplier is jumping to 10.. I don't want that at all. I don't need any energy savings or similar BS, just stable 10X 266 MHz - is this a common thing? I remember when i had Intel DP35DMP and Q6600 i experienced the same - the multiplier would "jump" from 9 to 6. How to fix this? |

Disable Speedstep and C1E in the BIOS.

There must be more advanced CPU options in your bios that need to be disabled.

C1E might be called Enhanced Halt State or something similar. Don't blame the motherboard, blame Intel for adding this "problem" feature.

I would turn it off. But I kept mine on just to run the power saver on my motherboard for a hot day when all my air conditioners were running. I saved about 10 watts...in like an hour

I agree the speedstepping and c1e is whats causing the jump, however if you have a stable OC there is no need to disable.
I am not 100% of the time doing cpu intensive tasks or benching. I use the speedstepping and have no stability issues with my computer.
