Disable everything in your picture except for Disable-Bit.

Try setting your fsb to 333

then manually set your ram back to ddr2-800 in bios. Try that for just a tiny overclock.

That's 3.5 right there.

Someone else can take over, i'm too tired tonight :P

Thanks guys. Really appreciate it. Really!

Update:
Followed your instructions to the T.
Here is the result well, just after booting.

and the Core Temp 0.99.4 Reading - Intial

What I have done;

Disabled all in BIOS picture shown.

Ratio CMOS Setting - Auto <--I cannot change this value. Any tips?
C1E Support - Disabled
Max CPUID Value Limit - Disabled
CPU TM Function - Disabled
Execute-Disable Bit Compatibility - Enable
Intel (R) SpeedStep (TM) Tech - Disabled
Intel (R) C-STATE Tech - Disabled

Also with RAM;

Timings now set to 5-5-5-18.
As suggested in the manual.

The Bus Speed still shows as: 274.1 MHz ?!?
I know I have manually set the RAM to 400.

The mutiplier have been raised from stock (1st CPUZ picture) but the actual/updated Core Sped is still 2878.8 MHz.
Which would mean that my speed is not just 2.9.

Help?!

Its 274 because that is the bus speed, its gets multiplied by your CPU multiplier to get your core speed. Your ram is running at 822mhz because its set to 411 which is multiplied by 2.

I guess, some of you (or all) are wondering why this idiot is not getting this OC thing, and you are right. 1st time doing this and it is actually quite daunting.
Please bear with me.

@Mattb2e
Ok, I got you.
274.2x10.5=2879.1 / which is 2.9Ghz or 2.8Ghz. This much I get.

How in the world do I raise my FSB? I'm at a loss here.

Others have suggested that I raise my FSB to get my initial OC, but I haven't been able to do so.

Does it have something to do with "Ratio CMOS Setting"?

Its a setting in the bios, unders AI Tweeker. FSB Frequency is the setting that controls your FSB speed. Make sure to set your PCI-express frequency to 100mhz as well.

Ok, thanks for pointing me towards the right direction.
Looking for AI tweaker...got it.
So it would look like in directory path example...

BIOS/AI Tweaker/FSB Frequency...change FSB to 333?

Also will look for "PCI-express frequency" to set it to: 100Mhz.

Will report back soon, many thanks!

Default Thank you all!!!

Core Temp: Initial reading (Idle)

CpuZ CPU

CpuZ Cache

CpuZ Mainboard

CpuZ Memory

CpuZ SPD

These are the recent CPUZ readings after all your advices taken with HUGE kudos to you all!

....just a teeny question if I may...

I've read and burned this particular warning into my brain;
"PCI Express Frequency - 100Mhz"
Since I do not want to have my GPU wasted or any other parts of the PC.

However, I have a gut feeling that I might have left out something of this particular process.

Here are the pictures taken in the BIOS, after turning the "PCI Express Frequency" to 100Mhz.

Now, I read some where that I should set the PCI Clock Synchronization to 33.33Mhz. Is this important?

Also should I set the "CPU Spread Spectrum" to Disabled? or leave as Auto?

Anything else that I should change in order to sleep at night without the nightmare of PC burning?

I am more than happy to take every single picture of the BIOS pages & subpages if you guys require them.

Please advise...

p.s. Thank you all for your great help and I would definately recommend this site to anyone willing to OC their PC.

Be sure to run a benchmark just to make sure that it is stable. You can use Primer95 for that. Run it for at least 3 hours (according to what I've read). Also, check your temps while doing Prime95.

Good luck.

Default Stress test Semi-initial

Ok, tried the Prime95 test.

Kept my eye on the Core Temp readings.
After running it for a very short duration of just 4mins, my CPU temps went up to 74'C.

I realized that it was very nearly at the Thermal Spec range of 74.1'C.

Paniced and ended the test. Upon seeing that number stagnate over 10seconds.

Was this a smart move or just some premature noob move?
Should I have continued it? or stop it again next time I run it?

Also, you guys said to keep my eye on the load temps.
By load temps do you mean the idle temps? or while stress testing?

CPU Spread spectrum should be disabled, You should also manually set your memory voltage, look at corsairs website for the voltage spec of your ram, or it might be on the ram stick itself. I would also manually enter your Vcore as well, that would be your cpu voltage setting, I would start out with 1.25v and go from their, if you can post and boot into windows with 1.25v then run Prime95 Small FFT's setting for 1 hour. If you can pass that then you know that you are somewhat stable, you can either lower your voltage till you BSOD or you can continue with the stress test for 8 hours to make sure your cpu voltage is adequate.

Monitor your temps, make sure you stay under 60c for 24/7 use, although slightly higher probably wouldn't hurt.
