Default Help to OC my E8400

I got a alienware pc here is my rig i was trying to get 4.0ghz but i cant Im now on 3.60ghz with the overclock option on the motherboard

processor: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E8400 3.00GHz 6MB Cache 1333MHz FSB
Alienware P2 Chassis: Alienware® P2 Chassis with AlienIce™ 3.0 Video Cooling - Space Black

Can you show us your BIOS settings e.g. voltages e.t.c. Temps would be useful as well. Once you've shown us those, we can begin to help you hit 4.0Ghz

ok guys here is some info I really don't know the bios setting because is a option that come with it and it just said overclock and gave me 3 options one is 5%, 10%, and 20% I hit the 20% and it put my pc to 3.60ghz

First off, fill in your specs by going to User CP -> Add system.

Second, lower that Vcore man... 1.4v for 3.6 GHz is serious-overkill. 46 degrees on non-load is crazy... and do you have a non-stock CPU fan?

I agree with ocping, lwer ur vcore, sounds too much. Then give us a pic of ur real temps else if you want to oc your computer with these temps it will surely die.

These temperatures are not correct. And how about under load temperatures? Must be high.
