Im thinking about upgrating my CPU, the once I've been viewing are
__________________Intel Core2 Duo E8600 and Intel Core2 Quad Q9550 - Cost exacly the same where I live.. E8400 3.0GHz 1333MHz 6MB LGA775 CPU, SSE4, 45nm Q9550 2.83GHz 1333MHz 12MB LGA775 CPU, 45nm But one though.. E8400 is almost as good as E8600, just 0.33Ghz less and only half the price. It can hardly be worth paying double for .33Ghz can it? Or does E8600 have any other advantages? The CPU will of course be used for high overclocking..

the better long term investment is the quad-core.

No kidding.
__________________I've gotta agree with GFK, there is no reason to go with a quad if you aren't doing any crazy video editing or something. A dual core is more than fine for gaming and in the case of the E8400/E8600, a helluva lot more fun to overclock IMO.
