780i A1, Intel 8400 clocked to 3.6 GHZ.........Bios System monitor reads 59-61

Do you have speedstep enabled? that would make it lower the freq ect while you're idling.

I could try that, but my question is....why the 20c difference? realtemp was always accurate for me, but this is bios lol. I dont know, see my friend gracefully dropped the heatsink but it didn't do any visable damage, when I mounted it again after reseating the CPU it seemed to akwardly go on, however all the pins are seated on the sink.

They are two different temps, under load Core temperature is more accurate. If that BIOS temp is your idle temp I'd be very worried

Both Real Temp and Coretemp report 44-45 idle and 53-54 under load so I'm guessing thats the real temperature, I'm not sure whats going on with the bios.
