I know it's an ageing mobo but may as well get the most out of it while I still can. -_-

This would mean that the manual setting you are using is leaving you short on voltage at that speed.


One way to do it is as follows:
  1. Set it up in AUTO and look at your voltage using CPU-Z (IDLE and LOAD).
  2. Set in your BIOS the value you obtain in CPU-Z when @ idle (but keep it below 1.5V for your E6600)
  3. Confirm your readings in CPU-Z and test for stability

Cheers. I think I hit a good spot at 1.48...

A little high for my likings but temps haven't really changed at all.
