P-7805u CPU Upgrade Question

"Any socket P 1066 FSB chip should work, probably the best choices are the T9600, T9800 or P9600, The original cpu is the P8400 which is a lower power 25w TDP chip, the P9600 is also a 25w TDP and would ensure there are no cooling issues and probably not have much impact on battery life. If those issues aren't a concern the T9800 is about the fastest chip you can put in that is reasonable. It will take the X9100 but there is no overclockability with that chip and its got an even higher 44w TDP."

Not that its impossible, but it is very hard to do, thats if it is soldered in. I remember you could buy these original xboxs with a celly 1.4ghz installed, and the original cpu was soldered in so they managed to do it.

OK Thanks for the help guys, I'm gonna take this apart and see if it truly is an embedded processor even though all the specs say it is. Pray that it isn't because I hate this processor dearly even though it is fine for gaming. (The processor looks like **** in specs... I can find laptops half the price with better processors...)

I like the P9600, but it is hard to find it seems... The T's seem to soak up a lot of power which blah blah blah decreases battery life, increases heat production, all the fun laptop hardships. I was just looking at barebone kits, a freaking barebone with a Gforce 8600 had a 2.83GHz processor in it.... puts mine to shame. It also seems that the P8400 is a mass produced chip, hence how it probably ended up in my laptop soldered lol. I probably will take this baby apart just to check with the largest hope of it not being soldered. If it is, well then I get to wait for another 10 year before buying another.
