Hey guys, in my laptop I currently have an Intel P8400 embedded processor. Is it possible to remove this or does the embedded part of it mean that it can not be removed? If I am able to remove it, I plan on upgrading to a P9600 if I can find one. If anyone knows any sites that carries these processors it would be helpful too, I have been checking around and only found 2 websites that carry it.

No... contact points are solder.
If you did removed it and cleaned off the old solder, you then need to align micro-beads of solder and reflow them.

If it is soldered in, you might as well just give up. Sorry.

If it's not in a socket (ie. placed randomly on the board) then it has to stay in it's house
