SO I was playing Left4Dead and suddenly I got this...
http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...1200/error.jpg I rebooted the PC and it had a white screen, reset button, I rebooted it again, from the Reset Button, and it had the white screen again. Then I turned it off and turned it back on and it's been fine.

Never seen any error like this before, did you try going back to stock on everything?

From now and ever onward, all BSOD's should look like this.

I think its something to do with EIST and turbo Mode. Googled it and 2 places said something about EIST <_< I Have Turbo Mode Always on, so the multiplier shouldn't ever move from 21, even if it did, i don't see how it would cause an error. I didn;t get a BSOD, just checkers.

Don't know about the BSOD but I get that to, I guess its normal for an overclocking motherboard, i7's supposed to have an overclocking protecting feature and the motherboard disables it.

still getting this problem, I noticed it's only when I have 4Ghz+ overclock
I have it at 3.7Ghz right now and had it at 3.7 for about a week with not a single problem. 4.0Ghz passes 25 Intel Burn Tests at Very High and I ran prime 95 for a 4 hrs, I should probably run it more but I figured since it passed 25 tests it was fine This power management BS seems like maybe a Bios problem or something with the Turbo mode/Speed step It uses 148 watts right now per Coretemp specs. Did it in Windows Vista 64 also.Im gonna email foxconn about it, maybe they know what's up. Edit: second pic added, I think it's that BS, maybe since I dont have a CPU fan hooked up, it can't increase speed of fan and causes windows to idle the processor and crash? If it matters, I have my water pump hooked up to the CPU Fan connector to monitor speed. ![]() ![]() ![]()
