Nice idea. It would even better if you had a quad in there. Even the Q9550s are quite different compared with the Q9650s - let alone quads and duals.
Expense may be an understandable issue. Worth a thought if possible though.

![]() This is a nice cheap chip to test with and quads are just 2 of these anyway so I should imagine the results I get won't be far off for quads

Hahahahaha I'm running it right now with no fluid in my loop!!!
Got bored ![]() Still gonna get my fluid tomorrow and run it properly ![]() It's just being cooled by my tiny XSPC Delta V3 water block!!1 Temps are between 60c ![]() I told you I'm gonna give this chip hell!!!!! It's been on for 7-8mins, surprised it hasn't had a thermal shut down yet!!!

LOL!!!! Added a 120mm fan to my block and now she's running mid 50's
![]() ![]() ![]() You can see the condensation in the pipes from the heat turning the water that was trapped in the block into steam!!! Opened up core temp aswel, she has a VID of 1.27v

Tried 1.55Vcore in BIOS and a 400x10 for 4ghz, she posted but then complete system shutdown just before windows started to load, I assume the chip had a thermal shutdown as it was touching 60c when running 1.25Vcore with a x8 multi and the heat got too much for my water block at 1.55Vcore.
Going to collect my fluid at 9am in the morning, excited to see what she'll do once she is actually watercooled.

You can stop the CPU from shutting down.
