Overclocking Q9450!!
hello to all,
__________________hmm i got some problem with my Q9450 on overclocking.... so i tried to overclocked my proc to 3.8ghz just now... here my rig :- Q9450 C1 Maximus II Formula Dominator 2x2gb 1066mhz Raptor 74gb Xigmatek Red Scorpion Overclocked to 475mhz x 8 = 3.8Ghz here my setting on bios CPU - 1.33v goes to BSOD after 2sec run Prime95 large data set  then i set to 1.35v 1 core failed after a minute run Prime95  set to 1.37v 1 core failed after 10mins run Prime95  set 1.38v 1 core failed after 10min run Prime95 & 9mins run OCCT large data set..  NB - 1.4v SB - 1.5v FSB - 1.3v Memory - 475Mhz 5-5-5-18 @ 2.1v ... all the core temp are 70C - 78C and the CPU temp is 42C - 51C.. then i set it back to 3.6ghz which is stable for my rig..so do u guy have any ideas why do it cant stable on 3.8ghz?...   :

probably it is at its limits... unless u are going to increase the vcore above 1.4v

have you tried enabling LLC it will help but it will raise your temps a few degrees. Anything over 3.6 with a Q9450 is above average. The highest I got stable with mine was to 3.8 on UD3P. Passed 25 run of Linx and 8 hours of Prime95 blend

but i saw other Q9450 C1 can run 3.8 easily... i still cant find any solution =.=|| after a day tried on it... now im running 3.68ghz smoothly....

I have the same proc. as you and my highest overclock is 3.8 or 475FBSx8. I have a gigabyte bord so my Bios seetings are diferent.
__________________My vcore is at 1.4 in Bios and 1.392Idle in Win. and 1,360 at load My MCHv is set to +0,3 FBSv is set to +0,15 Dont know the stock volts for my MCH and FBS coz. my bord does not tell them. My be this helps. VID 1.2375

i thought it going stable but after 35mins at core 0 failed & stopped...but the others still running..
 but i stopped all of them.. here my setting at bios :- CPU - 1.37v NB - 1.5v SB - 1.5v FSB - 1.37v RAM 2.1v Enable LLC GTL 0 - +20 1 - +20 and it only last 35mins on Prime95 Large Torture..  any idea guys?...still trying to get stable on 3.8Ghz...
