Default P4 Overclocking! Help!

Hello OCN!

I have a Biostar motherboard (P4M900-M4, Socket 478) in my HTPC. Trying to overclock and see how far it goes

It doesn't let me choose voltages. But I can get 2.4GHz with stock, (1.5v) anything over is unstable. Is this a good overclock for stock voltage?

I'm running cheap Samsung RAM from my Dell , would changing the RAM to something like Crucial make the system more stable? Or is the voltage limiting the OC

Thanks!

The voltage is limiting the voltage, buying new RAM will not do anything
I dont know how much is the stock clock so there is no way of seeing if its a good OC

Yeah i agree with the above, you need to increase the voltage, there MAY be a way to unlock it but then you might have to use a program to change it or something

The stock is 2GHz. Sorry forgot about that.

Yeah I was thinking its the voltage. Thanks so much.

Yeah 400MHz increase is not bad without out change to the stock voltage, but I agree with the above. If you can't change the voltage in the BIOS, try using a software OCing app to up it a bit.
